Data analysis of patients with congenital cleft lip and palate among the population of the Republic of Tajikistan

ABSTRACT
The aim of the study to analyze the data on the registration of patients with congenital cleft lip and palate in the State dental clinics of the Republic of Tajikistan.
Objects and methods. We used and studied archival data of patients from 2009 to 2019 with congenital cleft lip and palate taken from Ministry of health and social protection of the Republic of Tajikistan and National medical center «Shifobakhsh» (Dushanbe), Scientific and clinical institute of dentistry and maxillofacial surgery (Dushanbe), Sogdian regional clinic (Khujand). We conducted statistic examination of all obtained data.
Results and discussion. The dynamics of the increase in prevalence of pathology in years in the Republic of Tajikistan (Dushanbe) varies from 34.5–79.4%, while in boys it is found in 1.22–1.89 times more often than in girls. A congenital cleft lip and palate is up to 10.5 times more often than bilateral congenital cleft of the upper lip and palate.
Conclusion. The study revealed a high incidence of congenital cleft lip and palate and a continuous increase in the dynamics (over years) of the number of births with this pathology.
