ABSTRACT
The prevalence of dental diseases in the world remains high. According to the World Health Organization, up to 75% of the population in various regions of the world suffers from partial absence of teeth.
The aim of the study is to assess the prevalence of major orthopedic dental diseases among the adult population of Minsk.
Objects and methods. The analysis of the data of 1614 dental outpatient records of patients who in 2018–2019 applied for dental care to the orthopedic department of the Municipal Unitary Enterprise “Clinic of Aesthetic Dentistry” in Minsk.
Results and discussion. In the age group from 18 to 34 years, the predominant dental treatment is dental filling; however, already in 51.4% of patients, partial secondary adentia is recorded. Most often, two extracted teeth are recorded, and in patients aged 35–44 this indicator increases 1.6 times, in patients aged 45–65 years and more 3 times, which indicates a significant prevalence of these defects in the dentition and the relevance of preventive measures and improvement of therapeutic measures aimed at the maximum possible preservation of the natural dentition. With age, the most frequent treatment procedure is the installation of crowns, their number in patients aged 45–64 increases 1.6 times, and at the age of 65 and older – 1.9 times. In patients aged 45–64 years, in addition to partial secondary adentia, complete secondary adentia is recorded, which increases 2.2 times in patients 65 years of age or more. It should be noted that the implantation procedure in the orthopedic departments of Minsk is registered 12.8% more often than in other regions of the republic.
Conclusion. Dental disorders in patients who applied for dental care in the orthopedic department of Minsk are registered in all age categories. With increasing age of patients, the dynamics of the growth of pathologies in the dentoalveolar system is noted, while the features of structural changes are revealed, in accordance with which a strategy of preventive and therapeutic measures should be developed, aimed at maintaining the physiological and aesthetic function of teeth.

Keywords: dental diseases, structural analysis, defects of the crown part of the tooth, partial secondary adentia, complete secondary adentia, prosthetics
