ABSTRACT
The search of the new effective means for the treatment of alveolitis remains relevant due to the fact that the incidence of this complication of tooth extraction surgery is not decreasing. Recently, special attention is paid to the use of ready-made dosage forms in medical practice, which is convenient for clinical dentistry.
The aim of the study. To study the possibility and evaluate the effectiveness of using dental gel with choline salicylate and cetalkonium chloride for the treatment of alveolitis.
Objects and methods. Forty-seven patients aged 18 to 67 years old, who had an appointment with a dental surgeon because of alveolitis after tooth extraction, were examined. The criterion for inclusion of patients in the study were clinical cases when a complete blood clot was preserved at least half of the extracted tooth when the patient went to the doctor. Conservative treatment of alveolitis was carried out according to the generally accepted rules of using dental gel with choline salicylate and cetalkonium chloride. The effectiveness
of the mentioned preparation in alveolitis was evaluated taking into account the time of disappearance of pain syndrome, the time of replacement of the wells with granulation tissue, as well as the average time of temporary disability of patients and the number of visits required to eliminate the main symptoms of alveolitis that violate
the quality of life of patients.
Results and discussion. The use of dental gel with choline salicylate and cetalkonium chloride in alveolitis allowed to control the pain syndrome in 2 – 24 hours after medical care and its use, as well as to ensure the filling of the wells with granulation tissue on 8 – 15 days with the average number of visits 1.56 – 2.57 per patient and the average period of disability of patients with alveolitis 1.44 – 2.27 days.
Conclusion.  Dental gel with choline salicylate and cetalkonium chloride is reasonable to use in the clinical practice of dentists-surgeons for the treatment of alveolitis.
