Development of the medical and technical model of the lower jaw to assess the accuracy of dental implantation

ABSTRACT
The aim of the study is to develop a medical and technical model of the lower jaw with end defects and, in experimental conditions, to determine the possibility of its use for assessing the accuracy of dental implantation using a surgical template.
Objects and methods. When developing a medical and technical model of the lower jaw, the task was to simulate the structural components of the tissues of the lower jaw. A model of the lower jaw with an artificial gum was made using 3D printing. After that, the implant was planned and performed on the model using a surgical template with a digital protocol. At the final stage, the virtual planning data and the scan information of the model with the implants installed were compared and evaluated using software.
Results and discussion. The medical and technical model of the lower jaw with mechanical characteristics close to the bone tissue of the lower jaw type D2 was developed and manufactured. In experimental conditions, the possibility of using this model to assess the accuracy of dental implantation using a surgical template was determined.
Conclusion. The developed medical and technical model of the lower jaw made it possible to conduct an experimental study using a surgical template and can be used to study the accuracy of dental implantation.
