Medical and psychological approach to the treatment of edentulous patients with removable denture constructions based on dental implants installed using surgical templates

ABSTRACT
Treatment of completely edentulous patients with removable denture constructions, based on dental implants, installed according to individual surgical templates, ensures the restoration of function and aesthetics, and also forms the right attitude to the rehabilitation process. Digital technologies within the framework of the medical and psychological approach allow contributing not only to the proper planning of the surgical and orthopedic stages, but also to the correction of pathological emotional and behavioral personality traits.
The aim of the study. To reveal the features of the medico-psychological approach in the treatment of completely edentulous dental patients with removable denture constructions supported on dental implants installed according to individual surgical templates.
Objects and methods. The clinical part of the work is based on the results of examination and treatment of 20 patients aged 45–65 years with complete edentulousness of the upper and lower jaws. Comprehensive rehabilitation, including the manufacture of removable orthopedic structures based on dental implants, including the use of individual surgical templates.
Results and discussion. The data obtained during the examination of patients of the first and second groups indicate a high efficiency of the therapeutic resource. Detailed planning and visualization for the patient of the future treatment process, its integration into this process, and the placement of dental implants using surgical templates determines the success of future therapy.
Conclusion. The use of dental implant systems in combination with digital planning methods makes it possible to achieve high efficiency in the rehabilitation of edentulous patients.
