Features of operative field isolation during endodontic treatment of teeth

ABSTRACT
The aim of the study. Тo analyze current approaches to operative field isolation during endodontic treatment using the rubber dam system.
Objects and methods. Аnalysis of domestic and international literature on the issues of operative field isolation in endodontics was conducted.
Results and discussion. Тhe article discusses the goals of isolation, stages of isolation planning, criteria for selecting clamps, rubber dam sheets, and frames, as well as the main techniques for rubber dam placement depending on the clinical situation.
Conclusion. Тhe use of a rubber dam prevents microbial contamination of root canals, improves visualization of the operative field, reduces the risk of aspiration of instruments and irrigating solutions, and increases comfort for both the patient and the clinician. The use of a rubber dam should be considered a necessary condition for high-quality endodontic treatment.
