Histoimmunological diagnostics in pediatric stomatitis

ABSTRACT
Children’s oral mucosa is immersed in active surroundings of development and maturation, so it is exposed to pathologies and changes of various etiology and origin. The mucous membrane can be influenced by various pathogens, changes in the immune system, proliferative changes or injuries. This analytical review discusses the role of local immune mechanisms of the children’s oral mucosa, depending on the structural features at different age periods. In the course of the work, the nature of changes in the oral mucosa in stomatitis in childhood is analyzed.
The aim of the study. Conduct an analytical review of the literature on the histoimmunological diagnostics in pediatric stomatitis.
Objects and methods. For the analysis, we selected scientific articles on the problem of histoimmunological diagnostics in pediatric stomatitis for the period 2000–2021. The sources were searched using the bibliographic databases PubMed, MedLine, Scopus, the Republican Scientific Medical Library, and the Google search engine.
Results and discussion. The children’s susceptibility to the progression of stomatitis of various etiologies is explained by the gradual physiological formation of the histological structures of the oral mucosa, and, consequently, by the gradual formation of immunological structures, both specific and non-specific local immunity.
Conclusion. A detailed analysis of domestic and foreign scientific literature has shown the need to study histological and immunological children’s parameters, which will contribute to understanding the etiology of diseases of the oral mucosa, which will contrib ute to the development of new methods of treatment and prevention.
