ABSTRACT
In the domestic literature, we did not find information on the prevalence, intensity, features of the course of young people’s non-carious lesions.
The aim of the study was to study the prevalence, intensity and characteristics of the course of erosive and abrasive lesions of young people’s hard tooth tissues.
Objects and methods. Examination of 315 patients aged 20-34 was carried out. The presence and number of teeth with erosions, wedge-shaped defects, as well as clinical manifestations of the studied pathology were recorded, the dental and somatic status of the patients was assessed.
Results and discussion. It was found that against the background of a high prevalence and intensity of young patient’s caries at an outpatient appointment, a high frequency of occurrence and the degree of intensity of erosion and wedge-shaped defects, as well as periodontal diseases of varying severity, are recorded.
Conclusion. Erosive lesions of hard dental tissues with wedge-shaped defects, somatic diseases (diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, metabolism; hormonal disorders) occurred in almost 100% of young patients. Because these diseases play an important role in the pathogenesis of non-carious lesions, it is necessary to motivate young patients for preventive examinations by general specialists, early diagnosis and timely treatment of somatic diseases.
Keywords: erosion, wedge-shaped defects, caries, chronic periodontitis, young patients, somatic pathology, prevention
