Diagnostics and complex treatment of the diseases of the temporomandibular joint, accompanied by pain and occlusal disorders. Part 1

ABSTRACT
The Temporo-Mandibular Joint (TMJ) dysfunction is one of the most frequently encountered pathologies of the dental system. It is second only to caries and periodontal diseases. The constant increase of incidence rate of the TMJ diseases, accompanied by pain symptoms and occlusal disorders, has necessitated the development and implementation of a new clinical protocol for diagnosis and orthopedic treatment in such cases.
The aim of the study. Identify the main features of the diagnosis and treatment of TMJ dysfunction.
Objects and methods. The success of rehabilitation of TMJ disorders is the correct diagnosis, which includes an individual treatment and medical examination plan. One of the main principles of diagnosis is to identify right occlusion, management of soft tissue and bone structures and ligamentous system and also postural changes, which may influence on the clinical manifestation of the disease.
Conclusion.  Developed and clinically validated complex of treatment and diagnostic measures for the patients with TMJ disorder, which are accompanied by pain and tooth abrasion, provides an opportunity to rehabilitate the function and aesthetic condition of the dental system and also to lower the risk of complications and in fact, increase the level of dental care in the Republic of Belarus.
