Results of the development of a method for prosthetic tooth replacement after trauma

ABSTRACT
One of the complications of acute and chronic trauma of a tooth is its loss. When one tooth is missing in the aesthetic zone of the dentition, the dentist determines the indications for the choice of the optimal method of treatment, one of which is the fabrication of an adhesive or adhesive-shining prosthesis.
The aim of the study. Is to develop a method of adhesive prosthodontics applied to tooth loss after trauma using adhesive and splinting constructs.
Objects and methods. A study group of 222 patients with the following diagnoses was selected: chronic tooth trauma – 122 patients, acute tooth trauma – 100 patients (root fracture – 78 patients; tooth dislocation – 22 patients), who had indications for the fabrication of adhesive splinting constructions.
Results and discussion. . The method of tooth prosthetics after trauma consists in the fabrication of an adhesive splinting prosthesis consisting of two parts – a splinting structure immobilizing the mobile teeth adjacent to the defect of the tooth row and an adhesive prosthesis imitating the extracted tooth. Different approaches to temporary prosthetics after acute and permanent prosthetics after chronic trauma are shown, as well as fabrication of a prosthesis in case of tooth detachment and subsequent extraction of the tooth from the previously fabricated splint.
Conclusion. A new method of prosthetics in the treatment of root fracture, tooth dislocation and periodontitis and extraction of one of the teeth with the use of an adhesive splinting construction taking into account the clinical picture and properties of the reinforcing material has been developed.
