ABSTRACT
The aim of the study. To conduct a comparative assessment of the effectiveness of the results of peri-implantitis treatment based on bone tissue biochemical markers in the oral fluid.
Objects and methods. The study included 112 patients. Group 1 (control) included 18 patients in whom all implants were osseointegrated. Group 2 included 49 patients with inflammatory and destructive processes in the area of installed implants, which were subsequently divided into subgroups depending on the use of a complex of therapeutic and rehabilitation measures as follows: I preclinical stage of peri-implantitis – 20 patients, with stage II peri-implantitis – 25 patients, with stage III peri-implantitis – 4 patients. In the oral fluid of the observed patients, the level of acid phosphatase (AP) activity and the level of alkaline phosphatase (ALP) activity were determined. Patients with peri-implantitis underwent complex treatment.
Results and discussion. Comparative assessment of the dynamics of the activity level of AP of the oral fluid of patients in the groups demonstrated the advantage of the results of the studied indicator during the entire observation period in the group of patients with osseointegrated implants. Comparative assessment of the dynamics of the level of ALP activity in oral fluid of patients in the groups demonstrated the advantage of the results of studied indicator during entire observation period in the group of patients with osseointegrated implants.
Conclusion. It was found that a favorable prognosis for the development of inflammatory phenomena in the
area of the implant is observed with a decrease in dynamics of the level of acid phosphatase activity and an increase in the level of alkaline phosphatase activity. The opposite direction of enzyme values is a positive sign
of the reversibility of the inflammatory process. An unfavorable prognosis for the development of inflammatory phenomena in the area of the installed implant is observed if the level of acid and alkaline phosphatase activity remains unchanged in dynamics, and the level of acid phosphatase activity is constantly high.
