Evaluation of the strength characteristics of screw fixation of multi-unit abutments for dental implants with a plane type of connection under experimental conditions

ABSTRACT
The publication presents data on the study of the strength characteristics of screw fixation of multi-unit abutments and dental implants with a plane type of connection in the experiment.
The aim of the study. To study the strength characteristics of screw fixation of abutments to dental implants with a plane type of connection in experimental conditions.
Objects and methods. Under experimental conditions, the strength characteristics of the screw fixation of an orthopedic structure to straight multi-units and the degree of fixation of the bases of multi-units to 24 dental implants made of Ti-6Al-4V alloy with a diameter of 3.75 mm and a length of 11.5 mm with a planar connection type were evaluated. Dental implants were divided into 4 groups (n=6) depending on the loading angle and the duration of exposure.
Results and discussion. The article presents data on study of strength of screw connection original orthopedic design, as an experimental model for evaluating functioning of dentures based on dental implants with a plane type of connection. As a result, significant changes were found in degree of screw clamping and depth of their connection after increasing load to 200,000, most pronounced in the 2nd and 3rd screw connections with establishment of a correlation dependence – an increase in angle and number of loading cycles leads to a significant increase in accumulation of orthopedic fatigue constructions.
Conclusion. In an experimental study, the strength characteristics of the screw fixation of orthopedic components of direct multi-unit abutments to dental implants with a planar type of connection were evaluated. A significant decrease in the degree of clamping of orthopedic screws after experimental loading was revealed. A pronounced correlation dependence of the loosening of the screw connection is established depending on the number of loading cycles and the loading angle.
