ABSTRACT
The effectiveness of dental restoration measures depends on the choice of targeted principles for observing the anatomical and topographic zones of the periodontium. Practice has shown the inconsistency of a number of methodological approaches in observing the biological width of the periodontium, which requires clarification.
The aim of the study. Designate a new clinical method for determining the biological width of the periodontium and show its expediency in the practice of a doctor.
Objects and methods. Dental examination was carried out in 10 patients who needed the restoration of hard tissues of teeth of class V according to Black in the area of the anterior teeth without clinical signs of periodontal disease. The work used clinical and instrumental methods for assessing the state of hard tissues of teeth, periodontium, oral hygiene, the indicators of which corresponded to the norm. At the same time, a beam method of cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) was performed. Planmeca Romexis Viewer using the “Implant” tab with the “Ruler”, “Panoramic Curve” tools, as well as their statistical processing.
Results and discussion. The priority of the implementation of measures in the field of the perio-restoration complex provides for the mandatory determination of unfavorable factors surrounding the root and crown of the tooth. The use of the proposed method for diagnosing PBW eliminates errors in determining PBW in 96% of cases, and also makes it possible to effectively clean the restoration teeth in the area of the peri-restoration complex.
Conclusion. The proposed new clinical method for diagnosing PBW is easy to use, not traumatic, and quite informative, which is its advantage in the differential diagnosis of the state of the peri-restoration complex in dental patients.
