Design features of dental prostheses in patients with complete edentia and support on dental implants

ABSTRACT
The article systematizes approaches to the manufacture of dental prosthesis structures supported by dental implants in cases of full adentia.
The aim of the study. To systematize treatment methods for patients with full adentia depending on the design features of dental prostheses.
Objects and methods. The analysis of treatment methods for patients with full adentia was carried out on the basis of available scientific literature published in international and domestic peer-reviewed medical journals over the past 10 years. Randomized controlled trials, systematic reviews and meta-analyses concerning various methods of complex (orthopedic and surgical) treatment of patients with full adentia were included.
Results and discussion. Clinical illustrations are provided, which reflect the features of the clinical and laboratory stages of manufacturing various types of dental prosthesis designs supported by dental implants, as well as classification depending on the type of design, connection and material.
Conclusion.  A large number of technical design options and a variety of fixing elements require knowledge of the features of the clinical and laboratory stages of manufacturing dental prosthesis structures, both traditional and supported by dental implants.
