Preparatory measures for adhesive dental prosthetics after trauma

ABSTRACT
The aim of the study. To o develop an algorithm for preparing teeth after trauma for the fabrication of adhesive splinting prosthesis and to evaluate the effectiveness of its application.
Objects and methods. Our experimental and clinical studies, analysis of possible causes of errors and complications arising during the fabrication of adhesive constructions allowed us to develop an algorithm for preparing traumatized teeth for adhesive prosthetics.
Results and discussion. The e algorithm of preparation of teeth for adhesive prosthetics includes several stages: clinical evaluation of teeth closing the defect; radial methods of evaluation of hard tissues of supporting teeth; planning the location, color and shape of the combined adhesive and splinting prosthesis; selection of reinforcing material depending on the clinical situation; hygienic measures; endodontic treatment of mobile teeth according to medical indications; mechanical preparation of dental hard tissues.
Conclusion. Compliance with the stages of tooth preparation for the fabrication of a combined adhesiveretaining prosthesis allows: Increase the service life of the adhesive-retaining prosthesis by preventing the tooth with III degree of mobility from detaching from the structure from 21 % to 3 % (7 times); reduce the incidence of complications requiring tooth extraction from 12 % to 2 % (6 times), and complete replacement of the prosthesis due to its breakage from 37 % to 3% (12.5 times), as well as complications related to the displacement of teeth towards the cavity of the extracted tooth from 96 % to 2 %.
