ABSTRACT
The aim of the study. Study сlinical indicators of stomatitis in pediatric patients.
Objects and methods. The work is based on a retrospective and prospective analyses result research among 120 pediatric patients (3-16 years old) with stomatitis of various etiologies. The study was carried out on the basis of Affiliate No. 1 Children’s Dental Clinic of Vitebsk, duration July – October 2020.
Results and discussion. The co-morbidity rate was established: chronic tonsillitis – 4 (3.33%) children, atopic dermatitis – 10 (8.33%) patients, bronchial asthma – 16 (13.33%) children, chronic rhinopharyngitis in 10 (8.33%) patients, respiratory-affective convulsions were detected in one (0.84%) child, as well as a connection with oral vicious habits. The most pronounced oral vicious habit is onychophagy, 6 (5%) children. Allergic pathology was detected in 30 (25%) children. Food allergy – 15 (12.5%) patients, allergic rhinitis and animal hair allergy were detected in equal numbers, in 6 (5%) patients, an allergic reaction to drugs was established in 3 (2.5%) examined children. Changes in the level of acid-alkaline balance of the oral cavity in children with stomatitis of various etiology were determined, deviations from the norm were found in 58 (48.3%) patients. Acidosis was found in 2 (1.66%) children with allergic stomatitis, in 3 (2.49%) children with traumatic stomatitis, in 11 (9.16) children with fungal stomatitis (candidiasis), in 28 (23.33 %) children diagnosed with acute viral stomatitis (herpetic), in 13 (10.83%) children diagnosed with chronic viral stomatitis with a recurrent course of herpetic etiology. It was revealed that patients – 84 (70%) of the children seek qualified dental care not in the early stages of the manifestation of the disease (the second and third category in terms of the area lesions), thereby delaying the recovery period.
Conclusion. The results of this study indicate the relationship of co-morbidity and oral vicious habit with stomatitis in children. Deviations of acid-alkaline balance of a mouth cavity at children with stomatitis of various etiology are revealed.
