Accompanying local antibacterial therapy as a part of a system of postimplantation inflammatory complications prevention

ABSTRACT
The aim of the study was to evaluate the effectiveness of “Hexaliz” used in order to prevent early inflammatory complications in patients after intraosseous dental implantation.
Objects and methods. The study included 27 patients who underwent intraosseous dental implantation. Considering gender and age two equal study groups were formed. Patients in the main and control groups were prescribed systemic antibiotic therapy according to the standard scheme. Additionally, in the post implantation period the main group patients were prescribed the local antibacterial medicine “Hexaliz”. Gingival and papillary-marginal-alveolar indices were used in order to assess the condition of periodontal tissues and the dynamics of the inflammatory process.
Results and discussion. Complex antibacterial therapy including the intake of the medicine “Hexaliz” conducted in the main group patients was significantly more effective (p < 0,05) and helped to intensify the process of the surgical wound healing after intraosseous dental implantation.
Conclusions. “Hexaliz” can be recommended for use during the early post-implantation period in the complex system of inflammatory complications prevention.
