Psychological profile of dental patients in prosthetics with traditional full removable dentures and removable dentures based on dental implants

ABSTRACT
Restoration of lost functions of dental system with edentulous by removable dentures based on dental implants is a relevant direction of modern dental practice. Analysis of the psychological profile of patients indicates significant differences in the results of comprehensive rehabilitation of patients using traditional full dentures and prostheses based on dental implants.
The aim of the study is to determine the psychological profile of dental patients with edentulous in case of prosthetics with their traditional full removable prostheses and removable prostheses based on dental implants.
Objects and methods. The clinical part of the work is based on the results of examination and treatment of 40 volunteers aged 45–75 years old with edentulous of the upper and lower jaw.
Results and discussion. The article describes the results of the analysis of the psychological profile, defines the levels of depression, neuroticism, personal and reactive anxiety, types of attitude to the disease in patients with full adentia. The clinical example illustrates particular qualities in dental stages of manufacturing a full removable denture based on dental implants.
Conclusions. In comparison with traditional methods of replacing lost teeth, the installation of prostheses on implants provides significant durability, more optimal function, preservation of the bone and, as a result, less chance of negative psychological consequences. The analysis of the psychological profile of patients with complete edentulous, which were made dentures based on dental implants, indicate a decrease in the percentage of patients with low mood, hypochondria, increased irritability, reduced depression rates, the level of neuroticism after treatment.
