The use of surgical templates for dental implantation

ABSTRACT
The rehabilitation of dental patients using dental implants is becoming increasingly popular and successful in our country and around the world. Along with successes there are also complications associated with errors at different stages of implant treatment. There are many complications at a surgical stage during the installation of dental implants. Achieving projected success of implant treatment involves the using a transmitting device that allows to implement the planned treatment with a greatest precision. This device is a surgical template. The article presents the results of the analysis of scientific literature about using a surgical template during a dental implantation.
The aim of the study. The purpose of the study is to conduct an analytical review of the literature on the use of surgical templates for dental implantation.
Objects and methods. Scientific articles on the use of surgical templates for dental implants for the period 1987–2019 were selected for analysis. The search for sources was carried out using the bibliographic databases PubMed, MedLine, Scopus, Republican Scientific Medical Library, Google search engine.
Results and discussion. The analysis of scientific literature showed the effectiveness of dental implantation methods using surgical templates.
Conclusions. The most promising is the use of surgical patterns made using computer modelling. At the same time, work is continuing on the improvement of their deficiencies and their application.
