Prevalence of the main orthopedic dental diseases of Vitebsk

ABSTRACT
The priority direction of the modern state policy in the field of public health is the study of the actual state of health of the population of the Republic of Belarus with the aim of forecasting the volumes of medical care, determining the national system for the prevention and treatment of diseases. The study of the prevalence of dental diseases among the population of Belarus, in turn, belongs to one of the most pressing health problems.
The aim of the study is to assess the prevalence of major orthopedic dental diseases among the adult population of Vitebsk.
Objects and methods. The data of 1020 dental outpatient records of patients who in 2017-2018 applied for dental care in the orthopedic department of the UST of the Vitebsk Regional Clinical Dental Center in Vitebsk were analyzed.
The results of the study. A retrospective analysis of the prevalence of orthopedic dental diseases showed that in patients aged 18 to 34 years, the predominant pathology of the dental system is defects of the coronal part of the teeth, which require dental treatment. Identification of a significant number of defects of the crown in young patients indicates the need to strengthen diagnostic, preventive and therapeutic measures aimed at the timely and effective identification and treatment of the pathological condition of the dental system.
Conclusion. With an increase in the age of patients of the studied groups (from 45 years and older), the number of extracted teeth is significantly increased by 1.5 times. A low percentage of artificial crowns to a high percentage of teeth extracted in patients aged 45 years and older, indicates the need for improved dental orthopedic care. The population of Vitebsk needs a comprehensive program to improve the organization of dental orthopedic care.and peri-implant tissues.
