ABSTRACT
The aim of the study to analyze the effectiveness of local anesthesia in patients with signs of psychoemotional disorders in the conditions of outpatient dental care.
Objects and methods. The study involved 430 people from 18 to 70 years old. Assessment of their emotional state was performed using the TADT technique. Infiltration anesthesia and mandibular anesthesia in the modification of P. M. Egorov were used to provide dental care for patients with K02.1 (dental caries) and K04.0 (pulpitis). The effectiveness of anesthesia was assessed with the special analogue-visual scale with the control of the electroexcitability of the dental pulp using the device “IVN-01 PULPTEST-PRO” and the assessment of the dynamics of the cardiovascular system using the blood pressure and pulse rate meter digital OmronM2 Classic.
Results and discussion. The choice of the method of local anesthesia was based on the pain and trauma of the upcoming dental procedures, the general patients’ health state and his psychoemotional state.
Conclusion. The dentist and patients evaluated the effectiveness of local anesthesia differently. The assessment of the effectiveness of local anesthesia by patients depended on their psychoemotional state.
Keywords: psyco-emotional disorders, electroexcitability, local anesthesia, visual-analogue scale
