ABSTRACT
In the treatment of patients with TMJ diseases, an integrated approach is used, aimed at eliminating the etiological factor, as well as at a compensatory effect on existing disorders from the masticatory-speech apparatus.
The aim of the study. Conduct an analytical review of the literature on the use of dental intraoral devices in the treatment of patients with obstructive sleep apnea.
Objects and methods. The clinical part of the work is based on the results of examination and treatment of 16 patients aged 35–44 years with diseases of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ), complicated by the progenic ratio of the jaws and partial secondary adentia. At the orthopedic stage of treatment, functional and aesthetic rehabilitation of patients was carried out.
Results and discussion. The data obtained during the examination of patients of the first and second groups indicate the high efficiency of the therapeutic resource. Radiographically, as well as on the basis of ultrasound and electromyographic studies, the negative dynamics of articular and muscular disorders was not observed for all 16 subjects. As a result of the conducted content analysis, it was found that the proposed therapeutic resource determines an easier attitude to the long-term treatment process and the need to visit a dentist frequently in cases where, at the preliminary stage, in addition to normalizing the functional stability of the dentition, the primary aesthetic request of patients was satisfied.
Conclusion. To achieve good results in the treatment of patients with TMJ dysfunctions, complicated by the progenic ratio of the jaws and defects in the dentition, an etiopathogenetic orientation of the therapeutic resource is necessary, the components of which should be based on modern and precision diagnostic methods.

Keywords: progenic ratio of the jaws, TMJ dysfunctions, TMJ disorders
